God's Love & Teaching on Love: The Bible says

John 3: v 16
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, (or his only begotten Son) so that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 15: v 9 - 10
Jesus said

"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love."
"If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love."

Romans 5: v 8
"But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners; Christ died for us."

GOD'S TEACHING ON LOVE
John 13: v 34 - 35
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

John 15: v 12 - 14
"My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
You are my friends if you do what I command.

John 15: v 17
Jesus said

"This I command you, To love one another." - RSV.

Matthew 5: v 43 - 46
"You have heard that it was said, `Love your neighbour and hate your enemy.'
But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?"

Luke 6: v 27 - 35
"But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic.
Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.
Do to others as you would have them do to you.
"If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even `sinners' love those who love them.
And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even `sinners' do that.
And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even `sinners' lend to `sinners,' expecting to be repaid in full.
But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.

Matthew 7: v 12
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets."
